Click clack convertible sofas

click clack convertible sofas?

I have been looking and looking at these sofas and have read such mixed reviews that I thought I would ask here to see if anyone has any experience with them. I know the prices range all over the place. I have seen the exact same model anywhere from $299 to $699! I have a 7 year old girl who is big into sleepovers and thought this would be an ideal replacement over our old futon type sofa because they are so easy to work and look more plush and comfy. Thanks in advance for any thoughts or opinions! never heard of em! you mean a sleeper sofa? Annette, they are not like the old time sofabeds in that you don't have to pull out the heavy bed and unfold it. They also have a smaller footprint so if you have a tight space, it will fit nicely. The click clack term is because when you want to lay them flat you pull them forward until they click and then lay them down and they clack-lol. Here are some links:http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=1-6/qid=1184692541/ref=sr_1_6/602-6816421-6744632?ie=UTF8asin=B000MK3JYM This one is everywhere and pretty darn cheap but I have seem similar ones online for $1K. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4979028 I love the idea of this one because it actually makes 2 little seperate beds plus it has a matching chair for those once a week, 3 girls at a time sleepovers. I HATE the color and the pillows though. I love that the chairs swivel 360 too because I did what you told me a while back. You probably don't remember but the room is so big, long and skinny (this is the one with the 4 sliding doors), that I made it into different areas as you suggested. On one side, we have the sofa in the middle of the room facing the wall with the tv and fireplace, shelves for all the toys, a comfy rug and it is such a great area just for the kids to play and sleepover. Then in the middle of the room, I have my computer office set up and then at the other end, there is the breakfast bar adjoining the kitchen and a big kitchen table that seats 6 the kids use for art, homework, board games, etc, with another tv in an entertainment center for that area(I know too much tv!) plus the music area beyond that at the other end with the pianos, guitars, etc. You had the BEST solution when I was trying to figure out what to do with this giant space and I LOVE it now. The fact that those chair swivel would allow them to spin toward the music and table area would be so cool. We play games here all the time so between people just wanting to watch that and those wanting to sit and watch the music making, it would be like having extra seating. I don't have a walmart to run up and look at it though, it is about 1 1/2 hours away from me and I was trying to think how I could incorporate black into the space when it is all red, white and blue. Maybe I could do away with those pillows or cover them in red or....keep looking-lol! Although it would mainly be for the 7 year old, my older child who is 12 and taller than me also has friends sleepover and many of our guest who will be sitting in the chairs are big men so it would have to be strong enough for them too. If by chance you are out and about near a walmart and see it, would you look for me-lol?! I never ordered online from walmart and hate to not follow your rule about must try sofa in real life! If you think they would suit your needs and desires, that's cool But they are not easier to use or more plush then a premium sofa bed or futon package Granted, there are uncomfortable, and difficult to use sofabed/futon packages out there But this style isn't particularly easier to use or comfier then a good sofabed/futon oh, i get it now! wow, where have i been??? well, if everything is red, white blue, i'd keep looking. i don't think the black will add anything - not to mention, it would show too much lint fuzz stuff, and that will drive you crazy (it would me!) if you absolutely can't find anything better, you could try to slipcover or reupholster it. the lines/style is pretty simple all straight lines, so it seems pretty doable. and if THAT isn't possible, the black is at least VERY neutral. definitely get pillows in the colors that do work drape a throw over one side. there's probably some black in the room (tv stand, etc) so it might be okay. hmmm, good point about the black showing all the lint especially since we have 2 cats! I didn't even think of that. There is some black (can you see through my screen?!) like the tv stand, stereo, tvs and the frame of the futon and a lamp....so maybe with the touches of color you mentioned, it might work but I HAVE to see the material too. I think I am just going to have to drag myself over there to look at it because I have not found anything else that swivels like that. But for a cheap piece of furniture, adding shipping really makes a difference so that would be worth the ride to save there and adding the chair almost for free. I have seen a few of the click clacks in real life and they ARE really easy to work, the kids can do it themselves. The lounging positions are really nice to have too. The futon is not so easy, it takes 2 adults to lay it flat not to mention my fear of them getting their fingers cut off! They are just 7 years old and weigh all of about 55 lbs-lol. I am leaning more and more toward something like this because the other night, the silly girls each wanted their own beds and did not want to share the futon-ack! We ended up with one on the futon and one on a cot-lol. Thanks again for all of your help! It still amazes me that there is a forum like this. glad i could help! and yes, i can see you. (cute shoes!) hee hee j/k... We had one of these at the cottage years and years ago. They are (at least the old versions were) really easy to use, but not the most comfortable thing in the world. We used to keep a roll of foam (like a mattress pad, only thicker) rolled up and stored under a nearby bed so that when the couch was folded down, we just threw the very-thick mattress pad over top to make it more comfortable. They are a great space saver as they make a decent sized bed without taking up the whole room.
