Make A Bow For A Girl'S Purse

Decorate your plain purses with bows to help them stand out.

Decorative bows can help bring a little color to many different things. Making your own bows out of lace can help you save some money. Tying a decorative bow is a simple process that can serve many purposes. One of these purposes is to decorate a girl's purse. All that is required is understanding the tying process as well as attaching the bow to the girl's purse using a small safety pin.

Instructions

1. Make a loop in one end of your ribbon about 4 to 5 inches from the end. Pinch the ribbon tightly where the loop closes. Leave the remaining inches of lace on that end hanging down to form a tail.

2. Pull an equal sized loop of ribbon up next to your other loop. Pinch it tightly at the base to hold it in place next to the previous loop. Hold them together in the same spot.

3. Keep making loops in this method until your bow is the size you want. Cut the remaining ribbon away with your scissors to leave a tail that is the same size as the tail on the other side of the bow.

4. Pinch all your loops together in the same spot. Cut 2 inches of bow tie wire with your scissors. Tie the loops together at the shared base using the 2-inch bow tire wire. Loop the wire around itself and tie it to hold the bow strongly.

5. Pull the loops outward from their original position to fan out your bow and give it shape and definition. Avoid pulling too hard as you can cause your loops to come out of the bow tie wire.

6. Open your safety pin and push it through the bottom part of the bow where the loops meet. Push the safety pin into your purse and close it to hold your bow to the purse.
