Stingray
Purchasing a pair of stingray boots is a very good investment. Stingray leather is the most durable and water resistant of all the leathers used to make boots. They can be worn with casual or dress clothes and still look tasteful. Because stingray leather is so durable and stylish, it's also quite expensive. To protect your investment you need to keep your boots clean, conditioned and protected. Taking care of your boots properly will give you years of wear and comfort.
Instructions
1. Dampen a soft cloth and wipe your Stingray boots with the dampened cloth. Wiping them every few days or when they have been exposed to a lot of dirt and dust is the best way to prevent damage to your boots. Dirt and dust can damage the minute fibers that give leather its resilience and strength.
2. Apply a beeswax boot conditioner made especially for exotic skins to your boots after they are completely dry. Allowing them to dry completely will allow the conditioner to sink into the pores of the leather, which keeps the boots from drying out. Buff the boots after applying the conditioner.
3. Lightly apply a stain and water repellent especially made for exotic leather. This usually comes in a spray can, so carefully apply it evenly. The conditioner should not contain silicone.
4. Place cedar boot trees inside your boots when you're not wearing them to help them keep their shape. You can also purchase boot shaft shapers to insert into the boot shaft to help them retain their shape when not in use.
Tips Warnings
Test any cleaners or conditioners on an area of the boot that is not easily seen to see if it causes discoloration.
