Dearborn propane heater

Dearborn propane heater

I am new here. I would like to start off by saying hello to everyone and thank you for whatever help I might get. I always do research before I do anything. Help needed. Question. I have an old Dearborn propane heater. Model DKS-65-LP. I have talked to and googled dearborn, or what's left of them. I would like to know where I can get a manual or better yet a parts manual. That's what I really need. Can anyone hook me up? Thanks Ok forget the paper work. I had the burner out on the bench and unable to keep it burning. Took the valve apart and there was corrosion in it. I don't think there coil/solenoid works correctly either. So now I need a new valve. Now if someone can steer me in the corect direction. I will tell you what I need. Valve needs to have 1/2 in 1/2 out at 90 degrees, 24vac 1/2psi, needs a pilot, thermocouple, A knob with off/on/LO. Needs to be LP and at least 65000 BTU's. Can someone help come up with a part number so I can look at the specs. Thanks Try this: http://www.amazon.com/HONEYWELL-VR82...sim_sbs_misc_3 Ok minor problem. The valve I have states (set 10). The valve I am looking at buying because it looks the same states (set 3.5). Is mine LP and the other natural gas? Now can I convert it easily? Thanks White Rodgers Gas Valve 36C12-310 Take a look here. You probably want to have a service company do the final startup to make sure of proper combustion. This very critical for your safety. OK Heres the deal. I bought the essex natural gas valve. Looks like the one I have. The new valve has in and out on opposite sides the old valve was 90 degrees. Not a big deal, put a 90 in and had to reduced it to 3/8. Took the old spring and put it in the new valve, and made a manometer. Put the burner unit on the bench rigged up the gas and fired it off. Unit was very close to 10 w/c. Adjusted it and shut it down. Put the burner in the heater housing and pipe the gas. I used 1/2 black iron. I put my union and my trap and gas valve in, hook up the gas. I lite the pilot, turned up the thermostat and waited. 30 seconds later the burner lights. A couple of minutes later the fan kicks in. Not too bad for never doing this before. My advice, always read about what you are planning on doing. Ask questions, and read some more.
