Calm Down When I'M Hyper

Calm your hyperactivity with a few tricks.

Hyperactivity may be the result of too many stimulants or too much adrenaline, which may lead to a surge of energy. It may affect a person on rare occasion or even several times a day. If you have had too much sugar or just feel like you can't sit down, try a few methods to calm yourself. Take care of your hyperactivity by focusing your energy elsewhere, meditating or using herbal remedies.

Instructions

1. Channel your energy into something productive such as exercise, doing chores or cooking. By channeling your energy, it does not go wasted but becomes a productive behavior.

2. Make yourself a cup of green or black tea or warm milk. These drinks have ingredients in them known to have a calming effect on the body. Tea contains theanine and milk contains tryptophan.

3. Chew on gum or mints to focus your jitters elsewhere.

4. Close your eyes, breathe deeply and meditate in a quiet space. Focus on clearing your head and getting your heart rate down. Keep breathing slowly and deeply until you feel calm and your heart rate has slowed. Another option is to take a warm bath with lavender oil, which may have a calming effect.

5. Avoid stimulants such as caffeine and sugar, which will just make you more hyper.
