Use Olive Oil To Remove Scars

Use Olive Oil to Remove Scars

Olive oil has special moisturizing and healing properties and has been used for years to soften skin, smooth hair and remove scar tissue. When combined with chamomile, rose hips and calendula essential oils, olive oil can be made into a potent scar-removing serum. Chamomile has natural skin-lightening properties that will help to lighten the appearance of the scar; calendula is known for its skin-healing qualities. This serum, applied daily, will gradually fade old and new scars.

Instructions

1. Create a natural, herbal scar-smoothing oil. Combine six drops each of chamomile and calendula essential oils in a glass bottle. Allow the oils to mellow into each other for about 2 days.

2. Add 2 tsp. olive oil and 1 tsp. rosehips seed oil to the essential oil mix. Shake the bottle to blend the oils together.

3. Cleanse the scarred skin with a mild, unscented soap and pat dry.

4. Apply a dime-sized amount of the olive oil serum onto the scarred skin. Rub the oil deeply into the scars in a circular motion. For best results, apply the olive oil serum twice a day. Remember that gradual and continued use will heal new scars and help fade old scars.

5. Continue applying the olive oil serum until you have removed all scars. Keep in mind that it may take up to 2 weeks before you start to see any results.
