Quit Smoking Naturally

Quit Smoking Naturally

For some people, quitting smoking is a monumental task, while others can take it or leave it and have no difficulty giving it up. People try to understand the psychology of stopping without realizing that it boils down to one simple thing: You have to want to quit. People who have a great deal of difficulty really don't want to stop smoking. They think patches, gums, and pills will force them to stop, so that the decision is out of their hands. Putting it in its simplest terms, what is more easy than to "not" do something? It's a matter of taking personal responsibility and control and, when you can come to terms with that fact, it's quite easy to stop smoking.

Instructions

1. Ask yourself if you really don't want to smoke anymore and, more importantly, give yourself an honest answer. Remember, you can't fool yourself.

2. Leave a couple cigarettes in the last pack you smoked and have it with you at all times. This may seem contrary to what you're trying to do but the point is, by having them and not smoking, you become empowered because the reason you are not smoking is because you are making that choice.

3. Fill in the gap. Smoking is a habit and when you quit a habit you must replace it with another. That's why most people gain weight when they stop smoking. Choose another healthier habit to replace smoking such as chewing sugarless gum or snacking on raw crunchy carrots or other vegetables.
