Often called the "lunchtime" facelift, a contour thread lift is a relatively new cosmetic surgery procedure that only takes a few hours to complete. While not as extreme as a full surgical facelift, a contour thread lift is a more affordable way to get a more youthful appearance by lifting sagging skin. While a thread lift is a far more simple procedure than a tradition facelift, there are a few things you should consider when choosing a doctor.

1. Schedule a preliminary consultation with at least two doctors so that you may make an educated decision when choosing a surgeon. Don't choose a doctor on price alone. While a contour thread facelift is a simple procedure in comparison to a full surgical facelift, any type of surgery involves risks and the qualifications of your doctor should be put before cost.
2. Review the credentials of your doctor, including education, board certification and specific thread lift training. While a surgeon may be experienced in various cosmetic surgery procedures, they should have specific training in the use of contour threads.
3. Ask to view before and after photos of your doctor's past patients. Not only will this give you a reasonable idea of what to expect from a contour thread facelift, it will help you determine the experience and expertise of you surgeon.
4. Bring an old photo of yourself to your consultation that reflects the results you would like to see. A good doctor will honestly tell you whether the results are possible or not. Not all people are good candidates for a contour thread facelift, and if your expectations are beyond what a thread lift can deliver, your doctor should tell you right away.
5. Inquire about the procedure, the equipment used and the specific techniques your doctor will be using to perform your contour thread facelift. Compare the response with that of another doctor. Each surgeon will have their own technique; however, you should be aware of the basic procedure in order to compare technique, healing time, cost and the final result you can expect.
