Weight Loss Crystals

Scientific data does not support the idea that crystals have the ability to help people lose weight, but they do find many uses for them in technologies such as optics, oscillators and communications. Like the ancient Greeks, Egyptians, Mayans and other cultures around the world, many people today, especially those involved in the New Age movement, believe that crystals are potent objects for medicinal, ceremonial and spiritual purposes.

Crystals may assist with weight loss.

Significance

Crystologists believe that crystals can retain and transmit positive energies, which can then pass healing or positive change to the human body. Each crystal supposedly vibrates at a distinct frequency, which gives it unique powers. The belief in crystal healing links closely to the idea behind chakras (spiritual energy centers). Crystal enthusiasts and crystology masters may use weight loss crystals to clear imbalances in the chakras that led to weight gain.

Function

Weight loss crystals should be cleaned and charged before use. This involves washing and drying the crystal, then allowing it to lie in the sun or moonlight for a few hours. There is not a definitive method for how a person should receive the weight-reducing qualities of a crystal. People can wear the appropriate crystals on a necklace, carry them in a pocket, or place the crystal on their body as a crystologist prays or chants over them during a crystal therapy session.

Types

Clear quartz may create a healthier mindset for weight loss.

Crystologists recommend several kinds of crystals for weight loss purposes. Apatite is supposed to suppress hunger and raise metabolism. Fire agate is used to reduce cravings, while tourmaline and sodalite aid weight loss. Clear quartz should balance the body into a positive state, which can create a better mindset for healthy weight loss.

Effects

According to Andrew Pacholyk, MS, L.Ac, "Allowing emotions to be expressed is the goal with crystal therapy." Crystologists generally believe that crystals release energies or blockages that cause imbalances in the body, which allows weight loss to occur. Naturalstandard.com says, "There is not enough evidence in humans to support the use of crystal therapy for any health problem."

Considerations

Some crystals, such as tourmaline, do have pyroelectric properties, which means that heat can cause the crystal to generate electricity. Empirical evidence is lacking about whether pyroelectric properties in a crystal give it the ability to resonate with the vibrations or auras of humans. Some enthusiasts of the New Age movement believe that science will catch up with mystical knowledge of crystal healing.
