Chinese Detox Teas

The Chinese are known for alternative medicines such as acupuncture and medicinal teas. For hundreds of years, the Chinese have developed numerous types of detox teas meant to cleanse the body and bring back balance and harmony. These teas also help specific organs in the body to get the whole system running optimally.

Daily Detox Tea

Centuries ago, royal physicians for the Ming Dynasty combined licorice root, spearmint leaves, cinnamon, dandelion root, burdock root, Echinacea, sarsaparilla root, roasted chicory, cocoa and yellow dock root to create a detox tea that was meant to improve health. The ingredients of the tea are meant to help cleanse the blood, kidneys, liver, gallbladder and skin. Additionally, they help regulate blood sugar and boost the immune system. This tea is meant to be drunk daily.

Skin Detox Tea

The Yu Da Tealeaves company headquartered in Kunming City in the Yunnan province of China has developed a skin detox tea that is made up of honeysuckle, golden lotus seeds, lily flowers, haws, licorice, rock sugar and black tea leaves. This combination of ingredients are meant to relieve skin inflammations and nourish the skin. Whilst the tea can be ingested warm, the company recommends drinking it cold as the flavor is better.

Herbal Liver Detox Tea

In Chinese medicine, the liver is considered the house for the soul and thus considered a highly important organ. As such, the Chinese have developed teas meant to detoxify the liver and keep it in balance. These liver detox teas are designed to help relieve the liver of some of its duties by cleaning the blood of toxins and increases protein synthesis and fat digestion. Some of the herbs used in this tea include milk thistle, dandelion root, licorice root, fenugreek, yellow dock root, burdock root and turmeric.

Turmeric Detox Tea

Turmeric is one of the herbs used in Chinese tea mixing to help clear toxins from the body. It is believed to promote good skin, pleasant emotions and positive energy flow throughout the body. Turmeric contains curcumin, which helps fight the growth of tumors, inflammations and diminishes arthritis.

Kidney Detox Tea

This kidney detox tea is designed to clean the kidneys and is meant to be drunk three times a day for a week to 10 days for the initial detox process and then drunk once daily for maintenance. This tea combines red clover flowers, licorice, burdock, poke and dandelion roots, ginkgo and nettle leaves and chaparral.
