The Ayurvedic Treatment For Warts

Hands are common places for warts.

Ayurveda is an ancient system of medicine that treats the root cause of the disease and not just the symptoms. With Ayurvedic methods of herbal wart removal, you will have less chance of having scars where the wart had been.

There are six different classifications of warts based on shape and location:

* Flat warts are flat in shape.

* Plantar warts are generally found on the soles of feet.

* Filiform warts generally appear on the face.

* Mosaic warts are plantar warts found in clusters

* Common Warts appear on the hands, knees, legs and face.

* Genital warts appear on the genital areas.

Causes of Warts

Warts are caused by the virus called Human Papiloma Virus (HPV). The chance of getting warts is increased when moisture accumulates on the skin. Swimming pools, where you walk around barefoot and exposed, may give you warts like plantar warts.

From the perspective of ayurvedic medicine, all warts are symptoms of excess of the two elements of water and earth, or the Kapha dosha. Too much phlegm in the system causes these growths it is believed. Phlegm is viewed as cold, wet and heavy.

It is important to consult with your ayurvedic medicine practitioner before beginning any treatment for these viral infections. It is important to make sure that you are not allergic to any substance used in the treatment. If any symptom of allergy appears, stop the treatment at once and inform your doctor.

Ayurvedic practitioners have a theory about why children and teenagers often get more than their fair share of warts. It is easier to contract warts during childhood and puberty while one is in the body-builder phase of life, the kapha phase, when the two elements of earth and water easily get out of balance and are found in excess in the younger bodies.
