Ayurvedic Food Cures For Parasites

Ayurveda is a form of traditional medicine that originated in the Indian subcontinent. Much of its healing techniques include using natural herbs and eating plant-based food to heal ailments. Although derived from India, a lot of Westerners have adopted Ayurvedic methods when seeking cures to certain illnesses.

Herbs

If you find that you have a parasite, these useful herbs may help, depending on the type of parasite. Many of them are not familiar to Western cultures.

Ash gourd: When taken with coconut milk, it helps to expel tapeworms and other type of parasites found in the intestine.

Bamboo: When boiled, bamboo leaves can help with the removal of threadworm.

Belleric Myrobalan: Otherwise known as behera in Ayurvedic medicine, mixed in with Indian palash, it helps expel different types of worms.

Butea: Also known as palash in India, the seeds can be mixed with honey to form a paste that removes tapeworms and roundworms.

East Indian Rosebay: Also known as chandi, which means silver in Ayurvedic medicine, use the root or the milky white sap to get rid of parasites.

Indian aloe: Mainly used for children because of its gentle properties, just boil the leaf and use the juice to kill parasites.

What and Eat

When suffering from parasites, you should avoid spicy and greasy foods and eat lesser portions than usual, or the worms will have more to feed on. Also, stay away from sweets and stick to a vegetarian diet. Eating bitter foods may also help to expel the worms from the body.

Home Remedies

Here are a few traditional Ayuervedic home remedies:

Combine about 20 drops of raw turmeric juice and a pinch of salt in the morning and drink for a few days.

Extract the juice of a radish, add a pinch of salt and drink twice a day; once in the morning and once in the evening. Continue for four days.

Add roasted cumin seed to buttermilk, add salt and pepper then drink three to four times a day. Within a week you will see results.

Mix bitter gourd leaves and coriander in equal parts to 12 parts of water, soak overnight. Then filter water out and drink in equal amounts three times a day for a few days.

Ayurvedic Medicine

You can also obtain Ayurvedic medications at local shops. Ask for Krimi Kuthara rasa, Krimi Mudgara rasa, Krimi Kalanala rasa, Krimi Hara rasa or Vidanga arishta. You must consult with a physician before doing this.
