Take Care Of Your Teeth

Healthy teeth and gums are very important to a healthy lifestyle as they help us with daily tasks. Anyone can take care of their teeth properly with a little determination, brushing, flossing, gum care and the steps provided in this article.

Instructions

1. Brush teeth two to three times daily. Brushing removes the plaque that gathers on teeth after eating. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste and brush carefully along all surfaces of the teeth in a gentle back and forth motion.

2. Floss at least as many times as you brush. Use about 18 inches of floss and wrap each end against each of your middle fingers. Hold the floss firmly between the forefinger and thumb on each hand. Gently pull the floss between each tooth, rubbing against the sides of the teeth.

3. Choose a good dentist. Choose a dentist that is licensed and whose office is located relatively close to one's home.

4. Use mouthwash at least twice daily. This will keep your breath smelling fresh and your mouth feeling clean.

5. Go to the dentist at least once a year to get a check up. Getting your teeth cleaned by a dentist is a great way to take care of your teeth. Also, you shouldn't hesitate to go to the dentist's office if you have a toothache.

6. Check your own teeth for signs of gum disease. Swollen red gums, sensitivity of the gums and gums that bleed while you brush your teeth are all signs of gum disease.
