A conductivity probe, such as a Mobrey conductivity probe, is a long device used to measure the concentration of ions in a water sample. This can be useful in monitoring changes in a water supply. The probe is compatible with certain boiler testers, such as Texas Instruments, CBL systems or Vernier interfaces. The probe attaches to the water supply tank to test the water inside.
Instructions
1. Open the pressure valve on your boiler tester and open up the boiler.
2. Place the male end of the probe tip over the female end of the intake connector in the boiler tester. Make sure the probe is at least 10 mm away from any tubes in the boiler.
3. Turn the probe to tighten it but don't tighten it too much as this can damage the threading. Leave about one thread visible in the connection.
4. Wrap thread-sealing tape around the probe thread.
5. Run the cable from the enclosure-end of the probe out of the boiler and close and pressurize the boiler.
