Make Oil & Water Body Mist

Body mists are an alternative to heavier perfumes and colognes which provide a lighter, less overpowering scent. You can spend days surveying the shelves of department stores and pharmacies to find the scent that is right for you. An inexpensive alternative is to create your own body mist with essential oils and distilled water. This will allow you to not only save money, but also will give you a one-of-a-kind scent that is distinctly made for you.

Instructions

1. Pour 1 cup distilled water into a small plastic spray bottle.

2. Add three to four drops of essential oil. Use one type of your favorite oil or combine several different essential oils to create your own distinct fragrance.

3. Add 1 tsp. glycerin to the bottle. The glycerin will help make the scent last longer and will also moisturize the skin when the body oil is applied.

4. Replace the bottle's cap and shake the contents vigorously.

5. Spray a small amount of the mist onto a body part, such as your forearm, to test its strength. If you wish, add three to four additional drops of the essential oils to make the scent more pronounced.

6. Store the body spray at room temperature, or around 70 degrees Fahrenheit, in a dry place out of direct sunlight.
