Non Invasive Nose Revision Procedures

Any cosmetic procedure carries risks, but some procedures may be better, less risky options. Non invasive procedures are extremely popular now due to the fact that surgical procedures are not necessary. Also, healing time and pain are minimal with non invasive procedures, such as nose revision. In a non invasive nose revision, there are several options available.

Choosing Non Invasive Nose Revision

The best alternative to surgical rhinoplasty procedures is a non invasive procedure. This will allow you to avoid any risks that follow surgery, such as nasal passage damage and breathing problems. Surgical rhinoplasty procedures typically require the patient to be under anaesthesia, while with a non invasive procedure, the patient is fully awake and watches the procedure take place so he or she can decide what looks right and what doesn't.

Botox

Botox is a popular injection for wrinkles, fine lines and now nose revision. It is derived from the botulism toxin that stings and paralyzes nerves. Once Botox is injected into a wrinkled or weak area, typically on the face, the skin smoothes out and becomes wrinkle free. For nose revision, Botox is injected into the areas that need to be filled out more. If you have a drooping tip on the end of your nose, or the skin tends to sag downward towards your upper lip, Botox will give the skin a boost back into shape.

Radiesse and Restylane

Radiesse and Restylane are dermal fillers that help diminish folds, wrinkles and fine lines on the face. The procedures call for a local rather than general anesthesia. Both fillers are injected under the skin, between the dermis and subcutis layer, in areas that will help even out and define the nose. Once complete, the doctor shapes the nose with his or her fingers. The results typically last for up to two years at a time, and should be seen within a week of either procedure. Certain areas of the nose are chosen for the injection. For instance, a bump on top of the nose that is set apart from the rest of the nose flowing downward can be evened out. The injection will be in the middle and tip of the nose so that the dermal filler plumps up underneath the skin, thereby plumping the rest of the nose so the difference between the nose and bump disappears. Results are quick and typically painless after the injection itself.
