Home Remedies For Removing Warts

Warts come from the human papilloma virus (HPV) and are actually benign skin tumors that can pop up anywhere on the body. Most warts will disappear in about two years on their own, so it's best to leave them alone and let nature run its course. But because we're all a little vain, depending on the location of the wart, we want it gone. Before running off to the doctor to get the wart frozen off or buying an over-the-counter remedy, consider trying the following home remedies for removing warts.

Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar makes a great home remedy for removing warts. Using a cotton ball or cotton swab, apply some apple cider vinegar to the wart and cover it with a firm bandage. Do this every 12 hours until the wart is gone.

Baking soda

This application of removing a wart might depend on the location of the wart. Dissolve a heaping teaspoon of baking soda in water. Then wash the wart in the solution and let it air dry with the baking soda still on it. Repeat this until the wart is gone.

Baking powder

At night, mix baking powder with castor oil into a paste. Apply the paste to the wart and cover it with a bandage. Remove the bandage in the morning, and repeat this each night until the wart is gone.

Cover it up

Warts like air, so a good way to get rid of them is to cover them up. This can be done using waterproof medical tape, a high-end adhesive bandage or even duct tape. The key is to leave the wart wrapped up for one week.

Fruits and vegetables

Soak your wart in pineapple juice. Grate a carrot into fine pieces, add olive oil to make a paste and apply that paste to the wart two times a day for three weeks. Rub crushed garlic or onion on the wart two times a day until the wart is gone. Squeeze lemon juice on the wart and cover it with fresh chopped onions 30 minutes a day for two weeks. Rub the wart with a raw potato. Wrap the wart with the inside of a banana peel and cover it with a bandage.

Eat right

To avoid getting warts in the first place, or to help get rid of them, eat foods that strengthen your immune system. These include red meats, fruits and vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, oranges, limes and bananas, and lots and lots of garlic.
