Make A Bezel Pendant

A bezel pendant lets your gems and stones breathe for added shine.

Bezel pendants are simple but glamorous pieces of jewelry that serve as embellishments to your formal and casual wear. When you make your own bezel pendants, you can experiment with a myriad of precious and semi-precious stones as well as various metal types. Making your own bezel pendant is an enjoyable task for beginners in the jewelry making craft.

Instructions

1. Select a bezel setting in the shape, size and material you prefer. Jewelry-making supply companies offer a multitude of choices. Pry the prongs of the front of the setting outward, opening its face.

2. Select a precious or semiprecious stone that measures the same dimensions as the bezel setting you've chosen. For example, if you've selected a 12 by 20 mm bezel setting, you will need a stone the same size.

3. Press the stone into the bezel setting with the faceted, or flattened, side facing upward.

4. Flatten the prongs of the bezel setting flat against the faceted face of the stone.

5. Slide the finished bezel onto a chain.
