Use Rosemary To Treat Hair Loss

Use Rosemary to Treat Hair Loss

A variety of herbs can be used to make your own all-natural lotions and shampoos. Rosemary is an herb people use in hair products because of its scent and availability. Rosemary oil shampoo is believed to treat hair loss by stimulating hair growth.

Instructions

1. Use either fresh or dried rosemary to make your shampoo to treat hair loss, depending on what type you have available. Store all fresh herbs in a covered container in a warm place.

2. Remove the leaves from each rosemary stem and place them in the storage container. Allow the container to sit overnight or for at least a few hours before using it, so that the leaves have time to dry. If you try to use rosemary leaves before they have dried, the moisture may make the oil appear cloudy and could cause dangerous mold to grow.

3. Place the rosemary in a medium-sized pot. The quantity will determine the strength of the scent. Add enough grapeseed oil to cover the rosemary completely. Use a glass, iron or stainless steel pot when working with oils to avoid any chemical reactions from substances like aluminum or copper.

4. Put the medium-sized pot inside or on top of a large pot of water. Heat the large pot slowly for 3 hours, allowing the oil mixture to become infused with the rosemary. It is important to use low heat, because overheating may burn the oil and destroy the mixture.

5. Strain the oil mixture from the pot into a clean glass jar or container. Allow the mixture to cool overnight while storing it in a cool, dark location.

6. Massage the rosemary oil into your hair while showering. Rinse and repeat as necessary. Rosemary oil helps treat hair loss and can add a nice shine to brunette hair.
