Lose Weight On The Jenny Craig Program

Most people would agree that losing weight is no easy feat. The Jenny Craig Program is one of many commercial diets designed to provide a comprehensive weight loss solution. In addition, to providing weight loss consulting, the program requires adherence to Jenny Craig foods. Here are a few helpful pointers that will help you realize results.

1. Contact a Jenny Craig Center for an initial consultation. The initial consultation takes 45 minutes to an hour. A Jenny Craig representative, generally a program director, will explain how the program works, measure your height and weight, and discuss your program options.


2. Consider your program choices. Jenny Craig offers several membership options. The advertised special is often a short-term promotion, that ranges in price and duration. The Rewards Program is a one-year program that provides food discounts, maintenance assistance and a spouse discount. Currently the Rewards Program costs $399 with a payment plan option and $359 when paid in full. None of the Jenny Craig programs include food costs. Food ranges from $12 to $18 per day.


3. Choose a consultant. Initially, the Jenny Craig Center will place you with a consultant. However, if you feel that you do not connect with your consultant ask the program director to switch you to someone else. Most centers have several consultants and their ability to motivate you is important for your weight loss.


4. Follow the menu. The Jenny Craig menu lists your meals for each day of the week. Your main meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner and some snacks, are purchased from the Jenny Craig Center. Fruit, vegetables and dairy products must be purchased from the grocery store. Your menu is designed for a certain amount of calories, and deviating from the foods on your menu may raise or lower your calorie consumption which will affect your weight loss.








5. Take advantage of the available tools. When you join Jenny Craig, you gain access to a variety of tools to assist in your weight loss. The Jenny Craig website offers recipes, discussion boards, menu planning and other web based weight loss assistance. Jenny Craig also offers a hot line that is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week where you can speak with consultants.


6. Exercise. The Jenny Craig program does not provide exercise equipment or facilities. However, successful weight loss and weight maintenance is greatly improved through physical activity. Aiming for 30 minutes most days of the week is a good place to start.
