End Acne

End Acne

Acne is caused by dead skin cells mixing with oils in your skin; the result is clogged pores and a red pimple. There are many misconceptions about acne and prevent and treat it. Neither food nor dirt causes acne, so changing your diet isn't going to help matters. Acne is worse in some people because they have more naturally oily skin than others. You can put a stop to acne by making sure your skin is clean and treating the acne when it appears.

Instructions

1. Wash your face when you get up in the morning, before you go to sleep at night and any time you sweat. Washing your face twice a day ensures that you're removing oils from your skin, and washing your face after you sweat ensures that your pores remain unclogged. Also make sure to take a shower each night so you can wash other areas of your skin that have acne.

2. Use either noncomedogenic or nonacnegenic lotions and makeup. Many types of makeup and lotions that you apply to your face clog your pores, which promotes acne. Lotions that are noncomedogenic and nonacnegenic do not clog your pores.

3. Spray hairspray and apply hair gel directly to your hair; do not get any on your face. Gels and hairspray are often full of oils and will clog your pores. If you do get hairspray or gel on your face, wash it off immediately.

4. Wash your hands before you touch your face if you touched anything oily. It's a good idea to avoid touching your face in general, but if you have to, wash your hands to prevent oil from clogging your pores.

5. Use over-the-counter medicines, such as lotions, soap, and gel, that contain benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. Both benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid remove oils from your skin and dry up your acne, which causes it to heal faster.

6. Visit your doctor. If your acne does not clear up after two to three months, you'll need to see your doctor or a dermatologist. Your doctor will likely prescribe an acne medicine that's more powerful than over-the-counter medicines and home remedies.
