Get Rid Of Filiform Warts

Filiform wart on eyelid

A filiform wart is a common type of wart caused by contact with HPV (human papillomavirus). Filiform warts are often long and slim. Filiform warts can appear anywhere on the body, but they often occur on the face and neck area, which makes removing them more of a challenge. There are several treatments for getting rid of filiform warts, both home remedies and medical office treatments. If the filiform wart is on the face, you must be careful which home remedy you use, as many products and herbs can cause burning or skin irritation.

Instructions

Home Treatment for Filiform Warts

1. Wash a fresh, raw potato. A fresh potato from a farmer's market or your garden would be ideal. However, a potato fresh from the local supermarket will do if necessary. The potassium and other nutrients in the potato absorbs into the skin and works against the HPV.

2. Slice the potato into thin, small pieces, but large enough to cover the wart.

3. Place some petroleum jelly on the skin surrounding the wart, but not on the wart itself. This will protect the healthy skin from possible irritation from the treatment.

4. Gently rub the surface of the wart with a nail file that is disposable. This will help the surface area of the wart accept the treatment with less resistance.

5. Apply the potato piece to the wart, and secure in place with an adhesive bandage. Leave on overnight. Repeat this treatment for 7 to 10 days or until the wart falls off.
