Breathing Techniques To Bring Energy In The Crown & Release It Through The Navel

Each chakra represents different types of energies.

The crown and the navel are the seventh and second chakra, respectively. Chakras are energy centers in the body that act like transformers, drawing energy in and out of the body's energy system. Seven charkas are in the physical body. The crown represents spiritual attunement and the universal consciousness. The naval chakra houses creative and sexual energies. Bringing spiritual energy from the crown into the second chakra helps to cleanse chakra of old, or stagnant energy.

Posture

Sit with the back straight. This can be in a chair or on the ground in lotus posture (cross-legged). If sitting in a chair, plant both feet firmly on the ground and keep the spine and neck perfectly straight. The spine and neck should also be straight when seated in lotus posture. Place the hand on the knees, palms down.

Breathe

Remain still and hold the posture. Close your eyes; breathe in through the nose and exhale through the mouth. Concentrate completely on breath; this helps relax the body and mind, and brings about a meditative state. Slow the breath down and breathe deeply into the stomach, expanding the belly with each in breath. Breathe out as slowly as possible. This further relaxes the body. Continue the focused breathing until the mind is calm and focused.

Crown

Continue to breathe. The breathing pattern in Section 2 should be habitual, and not require active concentration. Focus on the crown chakra at the top of the head. Imagine the top of the head opening like a purple vortex. Picture a bright golden-white light streaming down into the vortex. The source of the light is infinite, and the more the crown takes in, the brighter the light becomes.

Navel

Imagine the light energy moving down through the center of the body and spine to the navel. The center of the navel is the belly button. Imagine an orange vortex extended out from the belly button. Picture the golden-white light releasing through the belly button.

Exercise

Draw in light from the crown with each in-breath. Bring the light to the navel while breathing in; the belly should be fully expanded at the end of the breath, and all the light energy should concentrate there. Slowly exhale and release all the energy out of the navel, until the stomach is both empty of breath and energy. Repeat this process for as long as desired. Do this for at least 5 minutes to develop a good rhythm.
