What Are The Holosync Levels

Holosync should be listened to with stereo headphones.

Holosync levels are descending levels in brainwave entrainment technology, designed to help the brain and body to maintain a sense of well-being. The technology is intended to initiate self-improvement in the practitioner. Each level is composed of natural sounds -- rain and the sound made by crystal bowls as the ridges are encircled by a finger, for example -- that are played over binaural beats. The combination causes the user's brain to tune to certain relaxed brain-wave frequencies. Binaural beats are thought to be close to the Schumann Resonance, the frequency at which the earth vibrates. Most people live their lives producing beta waves, which are associated with stress and hostility. All levels of the Holosync series take a person from the beta frequency down through alpha and theta to delta, which is the deepest and most relaxing frequency.

The First Level of Holosync

The first, and introductory, level of Holosync is called the "Awakening Prologue," which begins with an introduction to the technology. After this, the prologue continues with "The Dive," which is the part of the level that brings your brain waves down through the frequencies to delta. "Immersion" is the next step, which keeps you locked in a delta frequency for around 30 minutes. Newer releases of Holosync also include "Floating," "Quietude" and "Oasis" components, which are intended to enhance relaxation and help to assimilate brain changes. The manufacturer of Holosync, the Centerpointe Research Institute, recommends that the beginner listen to "The Dive" portion exclusively for the first four months and then gradually work into the "Immersion" section.

Subsequent Levels of Holosync

There are 12 levels after the prologue, and each level has its own "Dive" and "Immersion," plus extras, like "Floating" and "Oasis." During these levels of the Holosync program, subliminal messages can be added to enhance self-help goals. The subliminal messages are recorded by the Centerpointe Research Institute and are specific to the individual who purchases them. Some of the tracks in this section are 30 minutes, while some are 60 minutes. Regardless of the time, it is recommended that a user listen to each of the levels for about six weeks. At this rate, a practitioner can expect to finish the whole system in around seven years.

The Specific Differences in Each Level

Each level of Holosync carries a separate carrier frequency -- the two separate tones that produce the binaural beats. This produces different fluctuations in brain waves, which, in turn, create new neural pathways. Generally speaking, the lower the carrier frequency, the more pronounced the brain fluctuations become.

General Instructions for Each Level

Centerpointe recommends that you listen to each level with stereo headphones, which enable the beats to reach both ears at the right intervals. Each level should start with "The Dive," which needs to be listened to for a minimum of 14 days. After this portion, add "Immersion" to increase the meditation time to at least one hour. After a month, you can play "Immersion" more than once, increasing the time to one and a half hours.
