Prevent Feet Pain

We spend a lot of time on our feet everyday. If we’re not careful in the way we take care of our feet, we can experience pain that can make standing or walking a painful process. Whether walking, running or dancing, proper care will keep you moving.

Instructions

Prevent Feet Pain

1. Wear shoes that fit. Don’t try to squeeze your feet into shoes that are too small just because you like how they look or because they’re on sale. Even if you get a good deal in terms of fashion and price, you will end up paying for it later. Wearing shoes that are too small can cause corns to form on your toes as well as cause general discomfort from walking in the shoes.

2. Get regular nail trims and pedicures. If your nails aren’t taken care of, they can become ingrown which will cause much pain. If you’re not able to trim your nails yourself, you can have your doctor to trim them for you or you can get a pedicure. Pedicures are a good way to pamper the feet and keep them healthy.

3. Don’t go barefoot in public. While there is an exception to going barefoot in public like if you’re at the beach or swimming pool, you still have to take precaution. Wear flip flops or shower shoes anytime you're not in the water. You can step on glass, nails, or other things that can get lodged in your foot and require medical attention. Aside from the risks of stepping on something harmful, you could pick up various bacteria on your feet that can cause foot fungus.

4. Soak your feet. Consider buying a foot spa that you can use at home. Soaking your feet on a regular basis will help them feel relaxed after being on them for extended periods of time. Many of the foot spas have settings that can make the water bubble or even massage your feet as they soak in the water.

5. Get foot massages. Having someone massage your feet can help to relieve any kinks and tightened muscles you have. Foot massages are very relaxing and a good way to relieve foot pain.

6. Keep your feet clean. Wash and moisturize your feet everyday. Clean feet also help to prevent foot fungus. Be sure to clean in between your toes and pat your feet dry. Keep feet moisturized so they don’t become dry and cracked. If you’re diabetic, it is very important to keep feet clean and moisturized.
