According to the Wise Geek website, the Waterpik company has been manufacturing the device since 1962. Waterpik started out making their oral irrigation device, and now has produced a line of innovative shower heads, also.
Countertop Model
The Waterpik oral irrigation device started out as one device, and has evolved into two Waterpik devices: the countertop and cordless models. The countertop model has a large reservoir, 10 pressure settings and a wide assortment of removable tips. The newest countertop model has a tip with a toothbrush attached so a user can clean his teeth with the water jets and brush at the same time.
