Uses For Spagyric Tincture

Spagyric tinctures are made from plants.

Tinctures are made from herbs through a process called spagyrics. This is actually a procedure done through alchemy. Alchemy is not what most people think--old, Medieval hooded men crouched over a fire--but really a simple way to distill and extract out essential oils and fragrance from plant materials. Herbal or spagyric tinctures can be used for a variety of things.

Ginseng Tincture

Take ginseng (panax quinquefolium) tincture orally for overall health benefits, as well as to promote a healthy heart and immune system. The tincture can also help with hormonal imbalances, as well as create a calming or relaxing feeling because it acts on the brain.

Angelica Tincture

A spagyric tincture of angelica (angelica sinensis) helps women because it contains estrogen. The effects ease menstrual issues like cramps and regulate menstrual blood flows. During menopause, angelica also helps to reduce symptoms like hot flashes.

Arjuna Tincture

A tincture made from arjuna (Terminalia arjuna) is used by Ayurvedic practitioners to improve the heart muscle, which ultimately regulates the heart beat and blood pressure. Arjuna tincture is rich in calcium, which helps to build strong bones, heal fractures and reduce skin bruising.

Ashwagandha Tincture

Ashwagandha tincture calms feelings of anxiety and lowers high blood pressure. It can also be used as a general treatment for fatigue, sleeplessness and hormonal imbalance.

Astragalus Tincture

A tincture made of astragalus is used as a tonic to build up the immune system against sickness and disease. It is taken orally to reduce stress, cure infections, alleviate allergic responses and regulate blood pressure.

Bilberry Tincture

Bilberry has been used since World War II when it was eaten as a jam, rather than a tincture, to make pilots' vision better and reduce fatigue. Bilberry has anthocyanins and bioflavonoids that make blood vessels stronger. These days, bilberry is used as a tincture to achieve the same results.

Black Cohosh Tincture

Black cohosh has been used by the Native Americans to cure the flu, keep the reproductive organs healthy, and to reduce menstrual issues in women. Black cohosh tincture is also used to stop pain and alleviate asthma and coughs. Black cohosh contains salicylates, also found in aspirin, that cure headaches and ease pain and inflammation from arthritis.
