Apothecary Centerpiece Ideas

Apothecary Centerpiece Ideas

Centerpieces are not just flower arrangements anymore. Many still feature flowers, but not the variety seen at your grandmother's wedding reception. Today, many creative ideas lead to interesting and beautiful centerpieces. Apothecary jars are a great addition to a centerpiece design.

Brilliant Floating Candle

Choose to create a table decor that merges the typical candle-lit dinner theme with a modern twist. Fill a clear glass apothecary jar with water and place a floating candle in the water. Take this idea a step further and use a strand of white Christmas lights to wrap around the jar and illuminate the water. To incorporate some more color, mix a few drops of food coloring in with the water.

Candy Jars

Use a few different sizes of apothecary jars on the same table. Fill each one with a different type of candy. Use candy in one of the colors of your party or dinner's color scheme. For example, if your party has a pink and purple color scheme (like a little girl's birthday party), fill one jar with pink and purple gumballs. Fill another with pink cotton candy and another with purple gumdrops.

Scented Potpourri Jar

Create a decorative centerpiece that features the added bonus of a pleasant aroma that will keep your party looking and smelling great. Place an apothecary jar on a candle warmer and fill it with scented potpourri in the center of each table. Cover the top of the jar with a decorative square of fabric tied on with a ribbon or section of twine. To increase the intensity of the aroma, add a few drops of scenting oil to the potpourri.
