Make A Flax Seed & Lavender Face Pillow

Make a Flax Seed & Lavender Face Pillow

Flax seed and lavender face pillows help you to relax as you rest and ready yourself for sleep. The face pillow should be placed over your eyes as you rest on your back. The flax seed provides a cooling effect and molds to fit the contours of your face while the lavender aids in relaxation and healing. The pillow not only feels great but it also helps to block out light, allowing for total darkness while you rest and sleep. You don't have to pay a bundle to purchase a flax seed and lavender face pillow. You can make one yourself.

Instructions

1. Cut two pieces of silk fabric, about 6 to 8 inches long and 3 to 4 inches wide. Make sure both pieces match up perfectly when laid on top of each other. If they do not, trim one accordingly.

2. Sew the two fabric pieces together, along one long side and one short side. Leave the other two sides--one short and one long--free of stitches for now. You can use whichever stitch-type you wish for your face pillow. If you have a sewing machine handy, you can use that, as well. For a more aesthetic approach, fold the edges in before you stitch the sides together. This will create a nice hem around the pillow and keep the fabric from fraying.

3. Fill the face pillow about half-full with flax seeds. Keep it flat on a surface so the seeds don't fall out before you sew the remaining two sides together. Do not stuff the bag. There should be lots of room around the seeds.

4. Add the lavender to the interior of the face pillow. It will mix with the flax seed and emit a gentle fragrance over time.

5. Fold in the edges on the two remaining sides of the pillow and sew them together. Make sure to stitch all the way along each side to ensure no seeds can escape.
