Coaxial cables are commonly found in almost all home electronics setups. The coaxial head connects cables to a variety of equipment. If needed, users can shorten their coaxial head with a crimper.
Uses
The coaxial head connects a coaxial cable into an appliance or electronic product. A variety of specific coaxial heads exist for different frequencies, but the most common ones are used in televisions and headphones. They are attached to the electronics cable at one end; the user then plugs it into the television or music player.
Appearance
Coaxial heads consist of a copper conductor in the center surrounded by a metal shield. They are connected to wires at the factory via bolting. Coaxial heads are famous (and infamous) to television owners as the easy-to-bend connectors at the end of cable, satellite and DVD wires.
Crimping
The location of the coaxial head on a wire can be changed using a special piece of equipment known as a crimper. Crimpers attach the coaxial head at any point on a wire by pressing the copper head-metal shield combo onto the end; coaxial heads may be purchased at most major electronics retailers.
