Learning & Behavior Problems Associated With Child Adhd

ADHD often occurs along with other disorders. Many children with ADHD also have oppositional defiance disorder, depression and anxiety-related disorders. About half of those children with ADHD also have some type of learning disability. The combination or ADHD and other conditions can make life rather difficult for child. Treatment options should be acquired to deal with all conditions affected the child.


Oppositional Defiance Disorder (ODD)


According to the Kid's Health Website, about 35 percent of those children with ADHD also have oppositional defiance disorder. ODD is characterized by temper tantrums, resistance to authority and acts of deliberate defiance.








Depression


About 18 percent of those children with ADHD also have a mood disorder. Depression is an example of a mood disorder one might have.


Anxiety Disorders


Approximately 25 percent of children affected by ADHD also have an anxiety disorder. The disorder may take the form of generalized anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder or Tourette's syndrome.


Dyslexia


Many children with ADHD also have some type of learning disability. Dyslexia, which affects reading ability, is one of the most common learning disabilities that occurs along with ADHD.


Dysgraphia


Also, children with ADHD may suffer from dysgraphia. Dysgraphia is a disability that affects a child's ability to write legibly.
