Home Remedies for Childhood Asthma


Many people wonder about what home remedies are available for childhood asthma. If a child is left without his rescue inhaler, those in charge need to know what to do in case of an asthma attack. Below are some home remedies that you can try to help with childhood asthma. However, if a child does not respond to the home remedies, call 911 immediately. A hospital is the best place for a child during a severe asthma attack.








Caffeine


Drinking a caffeinated beverage, such as a soda or tea, can help relieve asthma symptoms. Some schools keep a can of caffeinated soda on campus for this purpose.








Caraway Seeds


Another home remedy for childhood asthma is to boil caraway seeds (ajwain) and have the child inhale the steam.


Dry Grapes


Dry grapes can be used as a home remedy for asthma. Soak the dry grapes in water overnight. You can either have the child eat the grapes in the morning (chewing slowly) or soak them in milk for 30 minutes first.


Garlic


Garlic is a good home remedy for asthma. You can boil garlic cloves in milk, add garlic to ginger tea, or boil garlic with honey, milk, and olive oil to help treat childhood asthma.


Honey


Honey is a good home remedy for childhood asthma. Place a full jar of honey under the child's nose for a few minutes. You can also add a teaspoon of honey to a glass of water and have the child drink the mixture three times a day.
